Killington and surrounding towns were declared a federal disaster by President Obama on September 1, 2011 following devastating flood caused by Irene.  The local volunteer effort has been just heartening to watch as many town residents have pitched in to help their fellow men.  Seems like everyone with a backhoe was out on their own shoring up the road destruction the minute the storm was over.  Our own Red Glaze has been out on the waste water treatment plant area for days clearing the storm runoff gravel which was 4 feet deep across much of the area.  Many other Rotary members are helping in their capacity as Killington Fire and Rescue members or as volunteers at the town emergency center which is set up at the Fire Department on Killington Road.

Donations from away may be sent to: Killington Pico Rotary Club, c/o Treasurer Ron Riquier, PO Box 421, Killington, VT 05751.  While we welcome all contributions, we are at this time unable to offer donors the assurance of tax deductibility of donations.  Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts as we recover from this event.
