Minutes of the June 29, 2007 Meeting
On Friday, June 29, we had a fun-filled feeding frenzy of curvaceous crustaceans and clams at the Neisner household. Sixty three plus or minus were present and no reports of food poisoning (phew!)...yet!
Your scribe thanks all of those people who did not have clams as we made three gallons of clam chowder the next day, froze a majority of it and we will have it for next year...assuming Miss Peggy consents. The scribe/host learned certain lessons about location of boiling pots of water and, if it ever happens again, there will be a new traffic pattern. In any event, everyone seemed to have a good time and we appreciated all the help from Rotarians, their families and friends.
Clary was sworn at?...no sworn in as our new President and will take over the reins this Wednesday at the Grist Mill.
Quick note - the 5th Annual Jim Thieser Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday August 16, 2007 at the Lake St. Catherine Country Club starting at 1:00pm. This will be an 18-hole scramble for four person teams. The cost is $300.00 per team which includes participant gifts, prizes, card and dinner along with golf. This is sponsored by the Poultney Rotary Club. For more information or forms please contact Chuck Colvin at 287-5294, e-mail cwcolvin@verizon.net.
President Clary is looking for a few (well maybe more than that) Rotarians to grace a calendar in various stages of undress.
In addition, there is a thought of an auction to help raise money as our fund raising efforts are down in terms of general operating funds. More on this later this year.
